A New Year...Together

(There are many good ways to be together.  And even though this is a lovers' poem, I chose the graphic to show how it can mean whatever kind of togetherness you need to make it through 2012.  So embrace the way that is open to you in the New Year!)

TOGETHER

Almost gone...
another year with you.
And even though the space,
the times,
the conversations
feel more cluttered with
the fallen leaves
of anger,
fear,
and pain,
yet here we are,
together.

Almost here...
another year with you.
And even when the days,
the weeks,
the months
may feel less measured by
the missing words
of desire,
affection,
and love,
yet here we are,
together.

VARIATIONS ON A THEME

I

I could not hold back
the lightning
that ripped through me
like forked strikes
across a stormy sky.

II

She crashed
into his kiss,
feeling the wave descend
and push her on.

III

He saw the goosebumps
flood her arm
and felt himself
grow warmer...

IV

his sensuality
simmered between them,
a pot on a slow boil.

V

she kissed his jaw
and he caved in,
like a collapsing mine wall.

TOSSED

Like branches in a tree,
wildly swaying in a gale,
we two fought, with fury
and with strength,
the rage of passion's storm...

THE END OF THE ROAD

Here
where we meet,
where we see,
for the first time,
who we are
to each other...

Here
where the light
meets the dark,
the earth the sky,
the heart the soul...

Here
is the end of the road.

THE BEAUTY OF YOU

Such is
the beauty of your smile
that I am shaken...
stirred...
enthralled...
set free...

Such is
the beauty of your love
that I am lost...
found...
imprisoned...
set free...

Such is
the beauty
of you...

PROMISE ME

Don't -
unless I can feel,
in every way as you do
the thrill and heat -
take me with you.

Don't -
unless you can give
your absolute, your all
and something more -
take me with you.

Don't -
unless we can share
the passion of our living,
the press and sigh and song -
take me with you.

FIAF #31 (A Naughty Version)

TAKEN

He pushed up, hard, hungry thrusts of his hips.  She could barely breathe, could only feel his thighs tremble, his arms helping to raise and lower her.  He moved faster, a kind of desperate, ravenous surging of flesh into flesh, his grunts the harmonic accompaniment to her whimpers of delight as she clung, hungry, mindless.
